Don't just sit there and expect customers to walk through your door and hand you money.  It doesn't work that way.  Engage your customers and entice them with offerings that will drive them to your business and perhaps, even bring a friend with them.

Here are 3 simple tips on how to use sms as an effecting engaging tool to drum up more business. 

1. Offer incentives.

Create temptation. Offer your customers coupons or special deals, especially if they bring a friend. Create a "real value" offer that your customers can use now.

2. keep your message short.

Research has shown that 90% of all sms messages are read within 3 minutes of being received. With only 160 characters to work with be sure your message offers incentives that will peak your customer's interest.  

3. create a sense of urgency.

Include some sort incentive that is only good for the current day or has a quick expiration date.  Remember, the goal is to get them to your business today so anything you can do that can entice them to alter any plans they may have had and come to your business is a success.

To truly maximize your marketing efforts, include social marketing and email channels as well.
